South Fork of the Snake River Fishing Report 10/11/2018

Fishing Guide Jaason Pruett | Snake River Fishing Report

Thank you for checking in on this week’s fishing report.  Last week we mentioned that the weather had really turned the corner to Fall.  This week it seems we’ve jumped right to Winter!  Cold weather, rain, and periods of snow have resulted in epic blue-winged olive hatches, great streamer fishing, and happy anglers!

The flow out of Palisades has been dropping this week. Farmers in the Snake River Plain are done irrigating for the year so we’ll continue to see flows gradually drop in the coming weeks.  The flow right now is 4,200 cfs.  The lower flows open up excellent opportunities for wade fishing on many parts of the river.  The water is crystal clear and it’s a great time to be fishing.

The weather forecast for this weekend looks cold but sunny.  We should see plenty of B.W.O’s hatching in the afternoons.  The pre and post game show for that is easy…streamers or BWO nymphs.

Bottom line…get out there while the getting is good!
