Well it is that historic time of year when fly rods are strung with ungodly patterns of foam and elk hair to best imitate the awaited salmon fly hatch whcih has begun its route up the Henry’s Fork of the Snake. They have moved rapidly up past the Warm River stretch and have been popping in the Box Canyon with the help of warm afternoons. It wont be long before they emerge and soar up the South Fork, typically around the first week of July. It may be a bit delayed this year but if timing follows, they should be getting plowed by eager trout here in the next month. I know the guides at the Lodge have every pattern form the Orvis shop in their box including some home-tied creations to fool our educated trout. Keep your fingers crossed. Stay tuned,
Chris
