Frequently Asked Questions

Included in your fly fishing trip is lunch, beverages(non-alcoholic), ice, and flies for two anglers. Each of our guides carry extra rods, reels and rain gear.

We most often use 9’ 5 weights and 9’ 6 weights with weight forward floating lines.
You are more than welcome to bring your own wading gear. We also offer complimentary Orvis bootfoot waders for our lodging guests. Waders are available to rent for non-lodging day trips. During the peak of our summer (July and August) wet wading is preferred and waders aren’t necessary. No matter the time of year we recommend bringing at least a rain coat and our guides pack extra rain gear as well.
We will rent fishing gear to day trips (non lodging guests). Fishing gear is complimentary as a lodging guest. Rain gear is available for purchase in our fly shop.

Transportation to and from the lodge is not included in package rates. Guests can fly into either Jackson Hole, Wy.(JAC), 62 miles away, and have Buckboard Cab(307-690-1459) bring them to the Lodge. You can also fly into Idaho Falls Id.(IDA), 48 miles away and have Teton Stage Lines(208-529-8036) bring you to the lodge. You might also consider renting a car as prices are comparable.

We've compiled a list of items to bring on our What To Bring page.

You can check out weather conditions on our Weather Page.

Guides: Gratuities are always optional but our guides work hard to earn tips and they are a large part of their revenue. If your guide worked hard, impressed you and you are excited to fish with them again then $125.00 a day is the average. When possible we prefer you tip your guide with cash and have an ATM in the fly shop. It’s your choice whether you’d like to tip your guide daily or on the last day of your trip.

Staff: When you check out, a suggested 15% gratuity will be added to your bill for lodge staff. You may adjust this how ever you desire. This gratuity goes into a pool and is split between, housekeeping, servers, chef’s, grounds workers and fly shop employees.

Check in is 3:00 p.m. Check out is 11:00 a.m. These times are flexible when you plan with us.
