Flows increased on Friday to about 2,500 cfs, up from 900. The increase in flow came a bit earlier than expected and is due to the amazing amounts of snowfall in February. We finished February with our snowpack in the Palisades drainage at 116%. This is great news for water users, irrigators, fish a & fisherman.
With Palisades Reservoir more than 80% full we can expect flows to increase as the Bureau of Reclamation makes room for Spring snow-melt.
In the meantime, flows are still great for wade fishing and doable for floating as well although give us a call first before you float so we can give you an up to the minute report on what boat ramps are plowed.
