Thank you, as always, for checking in on the week’s fishing report! This week we’ll be chatting about the Snake River near Pocatello as well as the South Fork of the Snake. This is prime time for fishing the Snake River near Pocatello and having a really good chance a trophy trout (see above photo!). Fall and winter are really good and it’s generally 20 degrees warmer in Pocatello than Irwin. We offer both walk and wade or float trips via our friends at Snake River Fly in Pocatello. The fishing down here can be so good that one of our guides, Tanner, is moving to Pocatello for the winter to guide. Go Tanner!
Moving on to the South Fork, similar conditions exist from previous weeks. Flow is steady at 2,000 or cfs currently but we could see a drop to 900 cfs any day now. Nymphs, dry flies, and streamers are all catching fish and we’re starting to see brown trout interested in spawning as a few reds are appearing on the lower river.
This weekend is the last weekend for the dining room, we’d love to have you join us for dinner, give us a call for reservations 208.483.2222. The fly shop will also be open this weekend for all your angling needs and we’ll be around next week in the shop getting things put away, feel free to come by or give us a call.
Have a great weekend!
