The fishing, flows, and bird hunting all remained steady this week. Flow out of Palisades is steady at 3,200 cfs. This flow opens up lots of water for wade fishing but float fishers need to take into account the longer float times as well as a few water hazards in the Heise to Lorenzo stretch as several trees are now exposed that used to be underwater. Call the shop if you need details but our guides report that as long as you are paying attention there are no hazards that are unavoidable.
Fall fishing remains true to form this week with afternoon hatches of BWO and Mahogany Duns. Streamer fishing continues to improve and I think we’ve weathered most of this cold snap and fishing this weekend should be more pleasant for anglers, bugs, and fish alike. Sunday is especially looking nice. Who’s ready to go chase some trophy trout?
Duck hunting was slower than expected for the opener but the cold weather is driving more ducks our way and we are seeing more birds and expect to see more this weekend.
Lodging season is winding down but we’d love you to join us for in the Dining room for our final week October 21st – October 27th. Please call to make a reservation. We offer an a-la-cart menu and a full bar.
