Flows have risen a bunch this week. On Monday flows were about 3,200 CFS and today they are at 5,500 CFS. The fish are pretty used to flows coming up this time of year so while it’s not ideal, determined anglers can still catch plenty of fish. Reports from last weekend were mixed, from just a few fish here and there to good days on the water. I would focus on nymphs unless you are cruising and then I’d throw streamers. The rainbows are moving onto their spawning beds so it’s a great time of year to target the rainbows with chances at some really nice ones. Be careful and respectful of the cutthroat that are spawning right now as well. Our first guests arrive at the lodge May 9th but if you are interested in a day trip before then we have guides who know who to “get them”!
