Update: 6/16/17, as of this afternoon flows have dropped from 24,000 to 20,000 cfs.
It seems there is always good news and bad news. Let’s start with the good news.
Good News
Our guests are catching lots of fish! Our guide staff continues to prove why they are the best around taking guests to local reservoirs and absolutely crushing fish. If you’ve never fished still water come give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. We have also been granted access to run a limited amount of boats on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake for a more traditional river trip. If you’ve ever fished the Henry’s Fork then you know that this time of year is prime time, with large hatches of golden Stones, green drakes, brown drakes, caddis, and mayflies.
Bad News
Our beloved South Fork of the Snake remains high and off-color this week with flows out of Palisades stable at 24,000 cfs. The river is currently pretty much unfishable with no outfitters currently operating on the river and very few, if any, boats on the water. Inflows are coming down into the reservoir but are still around 30,000 cfs. With the reservoir currently at 84% capacity, it remains to be seen if we’ll see flows on the South Fork increase or decrease in the coming week.
