The South Fork of Snake River

The South Fork has been fishing a little slow these past couple of days. The flows have been bumped up to 13,600 cfs, the river is still clear and is putting out fish but it is a little tougher than it has been. Throwing things to get attention has been working, streamers, big rubber leg stones with san juan droppers has been producing fish. The mornings have been fairly slow, but the afternoons and evenings right before dark have been the best times for fishing. In the late evenings throwing big stimulators or other big dries have been getting fish to eat. Dont let the change in flows keep you off the river, it is still good!  Come stop by the Lodge at Palisades Creek Fly Shop on your way to the river or if you are just passing through! We have a lot of new tasty flies and gear! Cheers!
Josh Heileson and client Dan Kemp pulled this HUGE cutty out of the South Fork the other day!  The fickle fishing didn’t stop these boys from getting a pig!
